How soon should you book your entertainment? 

Many folks call asking how soon they should book their disc jockey, karaoke jockey, or other entertainment for their wedding, family reunion or corporate party.  The answer depends on two things: how much you want a specific entertainer and your budget.

For example, many of our clients have used us before, or seen us perform at another event.  They know they want the talent and service that our staff can provide.  As a result we are already booking parties for next year.  Popular dates do go fast so we encourage you not to wait too long.  With a history of over 20 years, Solid Sound Entertainment couples, families and companies rest assured knowing that we will be here for their party tomorrow, next month, or next year.

Sometimes money is the issue.  Unless you have booked professional entertainment previously you may be surprised at the costs.  For example, Sheryl Crow reportedly receives about $500,000 per show and Jennifer Lopez, over a million.  That doesn't include the sound and lighting equipment costs or the perks such as a bowl full of green M&Ms or a bottle of Dom Perignon.  Luckily for you, our staff can provide you the music of Sheryl, Jennifer and thousands of other singers and musicians for a whole lot less.  And we willingly drink Pepsi, ice tea or good old tap water.

 What's the difference?

    Start looking for something to jazz up your party and you will see companies advertising that they have disc jockeys, DJs, entertainers, MCs.  What does all that mean?  For starters, a DJ is a shortened version of disc jockey.  These are generally people who will provide music for your event.  MCs or Master of Ceremonies is not a person that performs a wedding ceremony.  He or she is someone that will make announcements as needed and generally coordinate the event with other vendors and your guests.  We usually think of entertainers as magicians, singers, musicians, and comedians.  But disc jockeys with exceptional skills and the ability to do more than just push a button on a CD player are also entertainers.   Often times they also have MC skills as well.  When comparing prices for your wedding, corporate function, or family party consider that not everyone is the same and that is why you will see differences in pricing for what at first appears to be the same thing.

Where Do We Provide Services?

Our disc jockeys work primarily in the Loveland, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont, Laramie, and Denver areas. But they will travel where you need them to be. We have performed at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, the Stanley in Estes Park, at Boettcher Mansion, and at Grant-Humphreys. We have been to Tulsa, OK. twice and Asheville, NC. once. And for the wedding or party in the right location (Hawaii, the Caribbean, Fiji, ???) we will work out a nice package for you.

Thinking about using an Ipod?

When using an I-pod for your wedding you will miss out on all of the master of ceremonies and coordination services that a professional disc jockey can provide for you. However, we do understand that some budgets mean the family is doing potluck, flowers are out of your garden and a DJ isn't an option. For you we offer a high quality rental sound system for only $300.00. All you need to do is plug in your I-Pod or Laptop. This system also includes a microphone so you can make your own announcements. And because of the quality of the system, you know that you will get better sound than a boombox could ever hope to achieve.
